Volunteer Coordinator

Job Summary
Create an environment where volunteers feel appreciated and respected. Analyze organizational needs and seek to meet needs through volunteers.  Should be able to work alone as well in a team environment. Be self-driven, organized, and people-oriented.

Primary Job Functions
•    Conduct Orientation for Prospective Volunteers
•    Input new volunteer information in the database and update as needed
•    Follow up with new volunteers after they indicate interest in volunteering with WorkFaith
•    Check in with new volunteers regarding their experience once a month for first quarter
•     Recruit volunteers from churches, businesses, job fairs, networking events,etc
•    Communicate with prospective volunteers about opportunities and guide them to choosing their optimal fit
•    Provide support for volunteer appreciation events and initiatives
•    Collaborate with staff to maintain and update volunteer opportunities and schedules
•    Maintain and update volunteer policies and procedures, including volunteer handbook
•    Help staff create training documents and procedures for their areas
•    Create Volunteer Orientation Packets
•    Keep accurate records of volunteer hours to create weekly volunteer reports and requested departmental volunteer reports

Minimum Qualifications

•    2-5 years’ experience in an HR or recruiting environment or similar experience in sales or building support for initiatives
•    Track record of leadership
•    Experience with metrics and reporting
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Strong organizational and time management skills
•    High level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Publisher
•    Prefer 4 year college degree
